White Deer

These white deer were found in Father Hennepin State Park in Isle, MN. They are not true albino deer because they do not have pink eyes, but they do carry a recessive gene which causes a lack of all pigmentation of their hair. Interestingly, their offspring were a normal brown color. They appear ghost-like as they emerge from the woods and can be challenging to photograph, especially against white snow.
