My sister Jan died in 2005. Jan was mildly mentally retarded and had a mental illness called bipolar disorder. She led a challenging life but was a role model for us all. She had no concept of money and was content with the simple life she lived. She loved flowers and rainbows and often drew pictures of them. She cherished her time with family and friends and she touched the lives of many people.
This web page will display pictures of the roses and other flowers Jan and I went to see when we visited nearby gardens. Jan always took the time to “smell the roses”.
Each flower on this page is named with an attribute Jan had and that we all desire.
All of the proceeds from this web page will be donated to Community Living (Jan’s group home), CHOICE, Inc.(her work program), First Street Mental Health Center (her MH clinic), and NAMI (National Alliance For The Mentally Ill).
Special thanks go out to all the wonderful people who helped care for Jan throughout her life.
