Great White Heron

Great White Herons are also known as Great Egrets. They have long back feathers during the breeding season that are called nuptial plumage which they sometimes fan in display. Great White Herons nest in rookeries and will feed their chicks as often as four times a day. Our white heron images were taken in Minnesota and Florida.
